Kennack Sands Beach - FURTHER INFORMATION

Kennack Sands Beach - Lizard Peninsula visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Kennack Sands Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Cornwall.

Kennack Sands run between Thorny Cliff and Green Saddle on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. It is close to Kuggar and Gwendreath Farm, and in the area are several caravan parks and camp sites. Kennack Sands is on the South West Coastal Path, and the area is popular for walking.

Kennack Sands is popular with the surfing community as the long, shallow incline of the beach results in a long tidal range and, frequently, waves of 4 to 5 feet. Several shipwrecks are exposed along the beach at low tide, including the 100 ton Normand of Nantes which ran aground here in 1914. The beach is split into two by a small hill called Carn Kennack. The eastern section of Kennack Sands is a designated nature reserve.
