Sri Krishnan Hindu Temple in Singapore was built in the 1870's for the Hindu community living in the surrounding area. The original place of worship focused around a banyan tree believed to be inhabited by the gods
Sri Vigneshwarar and Sri Hanuman.
The current temple was built in 1959. Every year thousands of people visit the Sri Krishnan Temple for the Janmashtami celebrations of Krishna's birthday.
The Chinese Goddess of Mercy Temple is also on Waterloo Road.
