In 2002 the St Mary's Cathedral installed a Paolozzi Window, designed by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi on the theme of the Ascension. The church organ is reputedly one of the best in Scotland, designed by 'Father' Willis in 1879 and the rederos around the High Altar were designed by John Oldrid Scott. In the north aisle hangs 'The Presence', a painting by Alfred Borthwick dating from 1910.
St Mary's is open to the public and, while still an active place of worship, has also become one of the tourist attractions in Edinburgh.
