Patong is one of the night life centres on Phuket. The town and Patong Beach are heavily developed and very much geared to tourism, packed with countless hotels, bars, cafes and night clubs. It is the main tourist destination on Phuket. Most of the nightlife centers around Soi Bangla (Bangla Road).

Patong also has various vibrant and busy markets, also lined with bars. Bustling during the day, Patong really comes to life at night. The area is also full of prostitution with both young ladies and transvestites plying for trade on the streets and in the bars.

Patong has hotels to suit all budgets, from 5-star luxury to budget and hostels. Popular among the hotels in the area are APK Resort, Absolute Bangla Suites, Absolute Seapearl Beach Resort, Aloha Villa, Amari Coral Beach Resort Hotel, Amata Resort. In all there are about 100 hotels crammed into the town.

Car: Patong is about 30km south of Phuket International Airport. Transit times of about 45 minutes.
Bus: Regular buses connect with Phuket Town, from where there are buses to the rest of Thailand.
