Patong Beach (หาดป่าตอง Haad Patong), lining the coast of Patong is one of the most densely developed beaches of Phuket. The town behind Patong Beach contains around 100 hotels for all budgets, from the luxury beach hotels through to budget hotels and hostels. The beach itself is lined with sunbeds and backed by trees, which form a line of separation between the beach and Beach Road (Thanon Thawiwong).Facing west, Patong beach is a 2km stretch of white sand lining Patong like a ribbon. The beach is busy both in the day and at night, as Patong is the nightlife capital of Phuket, full of bars and nightclubs. As always, tourists are advised to watch out for their belongings on the beach, not least because all the sunbeds look very familiar.
Travel Directions and Getting There:
Car: Patong is about 30km south of Phuket International Airport. Transit times of about 45 minutes. There is parking along the beach, but spaces are limited.
Bus: Regular buses connect with Phuket Town, from where there are buses to the rest of Thailand.
