Tri Tra Beach is one of four small beaches found on a headland just south of Patong and Patong Beach on western Phuket. Like the others, Tri Tra Beach is far removed from the hustle, hotels and crowds of Patong, a quiet beach of fine white sand lined with casuarina trees.

The bay at Tri Tra beach is quite shallow, so not ideal for swimming and snorkelling, but fantastic if all you want is to relax in a beautiful surroundings. Deck chairs are available to hire.

Also on the peninsula are Tri Trang Beach, backed by the Merlin Beach Resort Hotel, Paradise Beach accessed by a steep jungle track and Freedom Beach, which can only be reached by boat.

Car: Tri Tra Beach is 3km from Patong. Take the ramp leading up from the southern end of Patong Beach and follow round to the Merlin Beach Resort. Park on the road and walk into the beach.
