Ardrossan has a long history of grain production and export. Situated on the east coast of the Yorke Peninsula in South Austlralia, about 150km from Adelaide, Ardrossan was one of the largest grain ports in the region.
This panorama shows the view along the coastline from the public jetty. The main grain loading silo and pier can be seen a little so the south from here, visible in the satellite view of the Google map of South Australia.
Today Ardrossan is popular for fishing and blue crab fishing. At night the jetty is also a popular place for squid fishing, with often very large squid being caught by line fishing.
