The road from the southern end of Patong Beach winds over a headland before dropping down to sea level again at Tri Tra Beach and Tri Trang Beach, next to the Merlin Beach Resort Hotel and Tri Trang Beach Resort Hotel. On the way it passes this small picnic area.

Both Tri Trang and Tri Tra beaches offer a much quieter alternative to the beach at Muang Patong, lacking much of the water sports and bustle brought about by the huge hotels. Also on the peninsula are Paradise Beach and Freedom Beach, which can only be accessed by boat.
