Pine Point - FURTHER INFORMATION
Pine Point - Pine Point visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Pine Point' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from South Australia.
The tiny township of Pine Point is only 15 km south of Ardrossan on the eastern coast of the Yorke Peninsula, 166 km north west of Adelaide in South Australia.
This township is a holiday destination with sandy beaches for swimming and fishing. Most of the accommodation is in Pine Point Caravan Park. This picture shows the small wooden church serving Pine Point communities.
Pine Point area was first used for grazing sheep, with the first flocks arriving in 1846. Gradually the land use became agricultural and Pine Point developed into a small ketch trade port with a small jetty. In 1967 the 'Yongala' took the last grain shipment from Pine Point, and thereafter the grain was transported to the silos at Ardrossan.
