The Beaulieu River, formerly known as the River Exe, rises within Lyndhurst at the heart of the New Forest in Hampshire. From there it flows south for 12 miles into the Solent just south of Bucklers Hard, with the last 4 miles being tidal. The entire river is owned by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. A public footpath follows the river from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard before heading west along the coast to Lymington.
The Yacht Harbour Marina on the river at Bucklers Hard offers full marina services with 110 berths. It is therefore ideal for those wishing to visit the nearby attractions like the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey and Monastic Life Exhibition. At the mouth of the river is Needs Ore Point, a well known nature and bird reserve.
