Passage by Almudaina Palace - Palma de Mallorca visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Passage by Almudaina Palace' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Balearic Islands.
After the Spanish re-captured the island, king James II employed Pedro Salvá, the architect of Bellver Castle nearby, to convert Almudaina Palace into his summer palace. This saw the addition of four battlemented towers, a portico, an airy ogival loggia on the seaward side and a small royal chapel.
Today the Almudaina Palace houses the Harbour Offices. The building also contains numerous works of art including 16th and 17th century Flemish tapestries and 17th and 18th century Spanish tapestries. The passageway shown in this panorama runs along the side of the palace from Passeo de Dalt Murada above the Parc de la Mar to Jardins de s'Hort del Rei Gardens.
