The front of La Seu Cathedral in Palma opens up onto Calle Paulau Reial. As the cathedral is one of the principle tourist attractions in Palma, this stretch of the street is often very busy. To the south, steps lead down to the Passeo de Dalt Murada which overlooks the lake and fountain of Parc de la Mar. The wall opposite the cathedral is part of the Almudaina Palace, and beyond this lie S'Hort del Rei Gardens.
