Assumption Cathedral (Thai: อาสนวิหารอัสสัมชัญ) in Bangkok is the principle Roman Catholic church in the whole of Thailand. Standing less than 100m from the Oriental Hotel, the cathedral was buit between 1809 and 1821 and named after Mary the mother of Jesus.

Assumption Cathedral underwent significant reconstruction between 1910 and 1918, and was badly damaged by bombing in WWII.
