Odeon Circle is a busy traffic junction near the eastern end of Chinatown in Bangkok. The area is full of shops and restaurant, often congested with traffic. In the middle stands the King's Birthday Celebration Arch, built in 1999 by Chinese-Thais in celebration of the 72nd birthday of King Bhumibol.
The King's Birthday Celebration Arch is often the focus of Chinese New Year celebrations, and a bit of a tourist attraction, forming a kind of gateway to Chinatown. Nearby is Wat Traimit, the most popular attraction in the area famous for housing the largest Golden Buddha statue on earth.
