The 14th century Castelo de Arraiolos (Arraiolos Castle) was built on top of a hill as part of the fortifications of the old village of Arraiolos in Portugal. Adjoining the castle are walls that surrounded the village. The castle fell into disrepair in the 17th century, and today the village is built further down the slopes. The only building remaining within the fortress is the 17th century chapel shown in this image.
