This panorama, taken on Christmas Day 2009, was really a study of a large, isolated oak tree at Badbury Rings in Dorset. The image was taken from the top of the inner rampart and also gives a view of the surrounding countryside.

This panorama forms part of the virtual tour collection of Badbury Rings, an ancient Iron Age hill fort and local tourist attraction close to Wimborne Minster and Blandford Forum in Dorset. Badbury Rings has been occupied since the Bronze Age and is thought to have still been in use when the Romans invaded Britain. Dorset has several other hill forts, one of the more famous being Maiden Castle near to Dorchester.
