Faro Marina is quite small compared the marina in Portimão, about 65km further west along the Algarve coast. The marina caters for various small, luxury yachts and boats of the residents and holiday homes in Faro. The marina opens up onto Ria Formosa lagoon and is backed by a pretty park.

As can be expected, Faro Marina is lined with numerous expensive, luxury, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. On the square are also the Governo Civil of Faro offices and the Hotel Eva.
