Queens Square - FURTHER INFORMATION
Queens Square - Moonta visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Queens Square' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from South Australia.
Queen Square in Moonta on the Yorke Peninsula was named after Queen Victoria during the 25th Anniversary of the Incorporation of the Town of Moonta in 1897. The square used to be a disused limestone quarry. Within Queen Square, close to the Town Hall, is a small 'mine shaft' monument commemorating the Copper Centenary (1861-1961).
Queen Square is at the heart of Moonta, bounded by George Street, Heny Street, William Street and Robert Street. It is often a focus of the popular Moonta Christmas Pageant.
