Lac Achard is a small lake 1917m high in the Belledonne Massif range of Isère in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. The lake, which lies in a natural amphitheatre or glacial corrie, is mostly fed by rainfall and meltweter and forms the headwaters for the Arselle stream which flows into the Romanche.
In the summer months, the region is very popular with walkers and several hiking trails lead up to the lake, including a popular trail from Bachat Bouloud bridge in Chamrousse-Roche Béranger which terminates at Croix de Chamrousse above the lake. The ascent takes about an hour, traversing alpine fields which become ski pistes in the winter.
