Beach near Durdle Door - Lulworth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Beach near Durdle Door' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Dorset.
Between Durdle Door and Bat's Head near Lulworth is a long, shingle beach that runs below the chalk cliffs of Swyre Head. The Southwest Coast Path runs along the top of the cliffs, but paths lead down onto the beach both near Durdle Door and Bat's Head. At these points you need to ascend up the cliffs again to continue along the coast. Durdle Door is a natural sea arch, and another sea arch, Bat's Hole, is also found through Bat's Head. Off shore you can see 'The Bull', a small rocky outcrop jutting out of the sea.
This area is part of the Jurassic Coast and has been declared a World Heritage Site. The walk here is very popular in the summer months and draws lots of people who as Durdle Door and the nearby Lulworth Cove are among the most famous parts of the coastline and huge tourist attractions.
