Whyalla Marina - FURTHER INFORMATION
Whyalla Marina - Whyalla visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Whyalla Marina' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from South Australia.
Whyalla Foreshore has undergone dramatic change since it was opened by the Queen of England in 1986. A further $3 million investment since then has seen the development of a marina with boat ramp, a fishing jetty, BBQs, change rooms, toilets, playground, cafeteria, and safe beaches for swimming or other water sports.
This panorama shows a view back onto the coast from one of the marina walls. From here you can easily see Hammock Hill, after which the town was originally named. The marina has 32 floating moorings with a depth of 2.4m at low tide, capable of handling vessels up to 13m long. Whyalla Marina provides access to some of the best fishing in South Australia. It is home to the clubrooms of the Whyalla Yacht Club, Whyalla Sport Fishing Club, and Whyalla Boatowners Association.
The Foreshore also offers a modern Foreshore Centre with cafeteria, change rooms and toilets, and lifesaving and rescue headquarters, extensive lawns, free BBQs and popular playground. The Foreshore is also linked to Ada Ryan Gardens.
