Calçada Portuguesa na Avenida - Further Information

The avenue that we can see today was built in 1879 - 1882 in the style of the Champs Elysees in Paris. The large boulevard became a center of parades, festivals and events. Majestic, 90 meters wide and floors decorated with Portuguese Sidewalk, abstract patterns in black and white, is now divided by ten traffic lanes connecting the Restauradores to the Marques de Pombal Square and is considered one of the most elegant city Lisbon.
The Avenue still keeps some of its original buildings and mansions, and plenty of hotels, cafes, theaters and luxury stores. Providing pleasant walks between ancient trees, fountains and magnificent terraces, make a stop at the local and terraces, while enjoying your drink, pay special attention to the magnificent work that the Portuguese experts have done in this area.
