Ermida de Santo António do Alto (Chapel of St Anthony on High) stands on the highest point of Faro next to tennis and football pitches. From here there are stunning panoramic views over Faro and as far as Olhão, further east along the coast of the Ria Formosa lagoon on the Algarve of Portugal.

Considered a 'notável' building within Faro, Ermida de Santo António do Alto probably dates from the 14th century, the tower to the side of the chapel dates from 1355, with a water tank added to it in the 20th century. Inside the chapel are numerous paintings and other works about the life of Santo António, but it is the dramatic views that makes Ermida de Santo António do Alto one of the attractions in Faro.
