Zuberec is a small, mountain village at an altitude of 760 metres, under the Roháče (Rohace) mountains in the Zilina region of Slovakia. It is a popular tourist destination close to Tvrdošín with several small, picturesque hotels. The regions supports various mountain sports in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Zuberec - Skiing

There are three small ski resorts near to Zuberec:

• Zverovka - Spálená - with 4 lifts and five ski runs covering nearly 5km of piste with black, red and blue runs. The resort also has 5km of cross-country skiing trails.
• Zuberec Janovky - four drag lifts and 4 pistes (1 red, 3 blue) covering 4.5km. There are also 8km of cross country runs.
• Zuberec Milotín - 4 lifts with both blue and red runs.

Zuberec - Summer

During the summer months the mountains open up for walking and other sports. A popular trail is around the four Rohace Mountain lakes which also includes Opálové lake and the Adamcula waterfall. Another walk leads to the top of Banikov vyhlad with stunning views over the surrounding area. Zuberec also has the Open-air Museum of Orava Village, which shows architecture from all around Orava region.
