This ia a futuristic architecture of Eastern Lisbon is a complete contrast to the city's old quarters. Most of it was built by innovative architects for Expo 98, the World Fair that took place in Portugal's capital between May and September of 1998.

Entrance Oriente Gare is a modern addition to Lisbon , built by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, using cement, glass and steel to create a modern, even futuristic work.
Entrance Oriente Gare is within the Park of Nations, often dubbed as the 'Lisbon of the 21st century'. The park is a popular part of Lisbon, containing several popular tourist attractions, including the Lisbon Oceanarium, one of the largest public aquariums in Europe.
Also here is the Pavilion of Portugal, a multi-purpose building which sheltered the Portuguese representative at the Expo 98, the Vasco da Gama Tower rising about 140m with a panoramic viewing platform a the top.
In this panorama beyond the entrance of Oriente Gare, we can see a shopping center, S. Gabriel' Towers and of S. Rafael.
