Kinghorn Railway Station Bridge - FURTHER INFORMATION
Kinghorn Railway Station Bridge - Kinghorn visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Kinghorn Railway Station Bridge' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Fife.
The railway arrived in Kinghorn in 1846 with the construction of the railway viaduct across the Burn Valley and the opening of Kinghorn Station. When the Forth Railway Bridge in 1890, the North British Railway began to promote Kinghorn as a seaside resort town, leading to further prosperity and growth. This also ended the need for the hazardous ferry crossings over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh.
Kinghorn Station is close to the town centre with pedestrian access from Station Brae or Harbour Road. The station is staffed during the week and on Saturdays, it is unstaffed on Sundays. There is no car parking or designated taxi rank, passengers must be dropped off in Station Brae or Harbour Road.
