Fontvieille from Palais Princier - FURTHER INFORMATION
Fontvieille from Palais Princier - Monaco-Ville visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Fontvieille from Palais Princier' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Monaco.
Prior to the 1970's, the Fontvieille district of Monaco was entirely covered by sea. The demand for more land led to a huge reclamation project and the formation of the new district. The area is occupied by several high-tech, but strictly non-polluting industries and the Louis II Stadium, which opened in 1985.
Most prominent in Fontvieille is Fontvieille Harbour, which amazes visitors with intensely blue Sea. The district has a heliport, provided with frequent connections with the Nice airport in neighboring France, from which it has direct connections to New York, London and other major destinations in Europe.
This panorama shows the view over Fontvieille and Fontvieille Harbour from the terraces of Palais Princier in Monaco-Ville. Other attractions nearby in Monaco-Ville include the Cathedral, Oceanographic Museum, City Hall, and Saint Martin Gardens.
