National Museum of Singapore - FURTHER INFORMATION
National Museum of Singapore - Singapore visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'National Museum of Singapore' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Singapore.
Panorama showing the National Museum of Singapore. This is the oldest museum in Singapore, dating from 1849 when it was a section of the Singapore Institution's library.
For a short time between 1993 and 2006 the National Museum of Singapore was known as the 'Singapore History Museum', but the name has now reverted to the original and it is once again referred to as the National Museum of Singapore. This can, at time, cause some confusion amongst those visiting Singapore.
The National Museum of Singapore backs onto Fort Canning Park, at the bottom of the hill from the Fort Canning Centre. It is a couple of minutes walk from the Singapore Art Museum.
