The cathedral Saint-Nicolas in Nice was built under the patronage of Tsar Nicolas II in beginning of the 20th century, it was inaugurated on Dec. 17, 1912. The Russian Orthodox Cathedral Saint-Nicolas is one of many Russian attractions in Nice, and the largest orthodox Cathedral in Western Europe.
The cathedral has five, coloured and highly polished onion-domed cupolas giving it a 17th century appearance. It is a stunning example of Russian Orthodox architecture. Equally impressive inside, the cathedral is decorated with stunning, intricate carvings and frescoes.

Opening ours vary with the time of year. The cathedral is open:* May-September 9am-12pm and 2:30-6pm
* October-April 9:30am-12pm and 2:30-5pm
One cannot wear shorts or short skirts as well as sleeveless shirts to go inside.

Flight: Nice-Côte-d'Azur International Airport.
Road: Nice is linked by the A8 "La Provençale" to Aix-en-Provence on the west and the Italian border on the east. It takes approximately 9 hours to drive from Paris to Nice by motorway.
