Bernau-Hof is a small village in Bernau im Schwarzwald, a valley in the Black Forest between 800 and 1415 metres above sea level with a population of about 1900. Located at the base of the 1415 metres high Herzogenhorn, the second highest mountain in the Black Forest, Bernau-Hof is the place where the first chapel of the valley was inaugurated in 1157.
The 8 kilometre long municipality consists of the localities Hof, Altenrond, Dorf mit Goldbach, Innerlehen, Riggenbach mit Schwendele, Gaß, Kaiserhaus, Oberlehen, Unterlehen and Weierle.
The climatic health and winter ski resort is a well renowned playground for skiers, hikers, mountain bikers, paragliders, and holds an annual sledge dog race.
