Siena Railway Station lies outside the city walls of Siena on Piazza Carlo Rosselli, about 30 minutes walk (2km) from Siena Cathedral the historical center of Siena around Piazza del Campo. Trains from here serve stations between Siena and Florence, and Siena to Empoli in the north, or with Chiusi and Grosseto to the south.
Siena Station was built around 1935 and was not damaged much during WWII. In front of the station are the colourful fountains shown in this picture. The fastest way from Siena Station to Siena itself is to take one of the buses that leave from under the shopping center for Piazza del Sale.
