The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in the University of Edinburgh was founded by William Dick in 1823. The school first occupied in a purpose built building next to William Dick's forge and moved to the present site in Summerhall next to The Meadows in Edinburgh in 1916.
As well as providing a world class veterinary collage, the School also undertakes world class research and development and provides some veterinary services to the public.
