Cassiobury Park is the largest public open space in Watford covering over 190 acres (77 hectares) westwards from Watford town centre with open, green spaces, woodland and countryside. The western side is bounded by the Great Union Canal, beyond which lies West Herts Golf Club and Whippendell Wood.
Cassiobury Park is an important public space, with a wide variety of sports facilities and attractions for children. Parts of the park are designated as a Local Nature Reserve. The Park is one of Watford's most popular attractions receiving around 800,000 visits per year and hosting a number of popular sporting and entertainment events.
