Priestfield Parish Church in Edinburgh follows the Reformed Tradition in the Church of Scotland. The building stands on Dalkeith Road just a few yards down from the Commonwealth Pool and Pollock Halls of Residence, near the south side of Holyrood Park
The church first opened as Rosehall United Presbyterian Church in December 1880. It is an Italianate style church with distinctive twin towers and was design by Sutherland and Walker. Inside are beautiful stained glass windows, the work of Mary Wood, Douglas Hamilton and Alexander Strachan and showing their distinctive styles.
The four windows by Mary Wood are themed on biblical plants, the sycamore, oak, rose, vine, pomegranate and acacia and reference various scriptures. Douglas Hamilton's work uses strong rainbow coloured patterns and Alexander Strachan's main work displays various scenes from the life of Jesus in 6 panels.
Other notable fixtures within Priestfield Parish Church include a pitch pine pulpit with fine Lombardic carvings, an Organ Gallery with a two manual digital Allen Organ and a Baptismal Font shaped like an angel.
