Chinamans Well - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The well was built along a route taken by chinese immigrants during the gold rush days in about 1856. The curved limestone blocks and the sandstone cap of the well were quarried nearby. The well is located 16 kilometres south of Salt Creek and can be reached via a 1.3 kilometre unsealed access road off Princes Highway.

Chinamans Well is an historic site and one of the attractions in Coorong National Park in Australia. It is 16 km south of Salt Creek along the Princes Highway. Chinamans Well set 1.3 km away from the highway on an unsealed access road. Also in the area are associated quarries, the remains of the eating house and the telegraph poles. The well was dug by illegal Chinese immigrants during the gold rush era.

Road: Coorong National Park is 180Km south of Adelaide (M1 and B1 roads). It is 266km north of Mount Gambier (B1).
