Edinburgh University was founded in 1582 and has a very strong global reputation, being ranked among one of the top universities in the world. Originally based in the Old College on South Bridge, the university now occupies a number of sites around Edinburgh.
This panorama shows the entrance to the St. Leonard's Land site, which houses physical education facilities. Built in the 1970's, the site is named after St Leonard's district which borders Holyrood Park to the south east. On the opposite side of the road is Moray House School of Education.
