Cannon Battery Viewpoint on Grazer Schloßberg - Graz visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Cannon Battery Viewpoint on Grazer Schloßberg' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Styria.
The Cannon Battery and Viewpoint overlook south and east Graz from the top of the Schlossberg and gives a good, panoramic view over the city. The Cannon Battery is just one of the several that used to protect the Schloss (Castle) that stood on top of the berg. This castle never captured but was destroyed by Napoleonic French after they defeated Austria and the signing of the treaty of Schönbrunn signed in Vienna in 1809.
The Cannon Battery Viewpoint is one of several on Schloßberg, others can be found near to the Grazer Uhrturm (Clocktower), overlooking Schlossberg Restaurant looking west, and the Lion Viewpoint looking north and west. These make the Schlossberg a popular tourist attraction in Graz, especially on sunny days when views extend for miles over the city and into the countryside beyond.
