Mariatrost is the main village in Moariatrost dictrict, the 11th district in north-east Graz. It is easily reached by tram and bus form the center of the city and has a number of tourist attractions, making it a pleasant half-day trip for visitors.
Maraitrost - Tourist Attractions
- Mariatrost Basilica - 18th century Catholic church on top of the Purberg and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the whole of Styria.
- Graz Tramway Museum - founded in 1971 the museum houses 30 vintage trams.
- Mariagrüner Kirche - 17th century church a short distance southwest of Mariatrost.
- Rettenbachklamm (Rettenbach Gorge) - pretty little gorge near the Waldhof tram stop, 4 stops before Mariatrost.
- Leechwald Forest Trail - forest trail that runs from St. Johann in Leechwald to Hilmteich.
- Mariatrost Erbach Creek Nature Trail - new nature trail running between St. John Erich Edegger and the tram stop at Teichhof just south of Mariatrost.

Road: Mariatrost is about 6.5km north of Graz city center on the 72.
Tram: Mariatrost Tramwaymuseum station (1), about 30minutes ride from Hauptplatz.
