Avenue d'Ostende runs along the northern edge Port Hercule in Monaco feeding traffic into Monte Carlo and Monte Carlo Casino. Port Hercule is always full of some of the most fantastic and luxurious private yachts and boats in the world, and around the harbour are also luxury flats, apartments and hotels. Some of the finest hotels in Monaco are found around Casino Square.

To the north, Avenue d'Ostende feeds into Boulevard du Larvotto which continues up the coast to the Monte Carlo Country Club, actually situated just over the border in France. To the south the avenue links with Boulevard Albert 1er which runs along the back of Port Hercule through the La Condamine district and then to the heart of Monaco Old Town and Monaco-Ville where most of the top tourist attractions (aside from the casino) are found.
