The Merlion - FURTHER INFORMATION
The Merlion - Singapore visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'The Merlion' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Singapore.
Panorama showing the Merlion on Sentosa, an island off Singapore. The merlion is the national symbol of Singapore and this 37m high statue of the mythical half lion / half fish gazes over Sentosa, and the south coast of Singapore with Mount Faber in the background.
Inside this paid attraction is a small display and short film about sea mythology. However, the highlight is to take the lift to 11th floor and then go up to the roof for the 360° panoramic view across Sentosa, VivoCity, HarbourFront the World Trade Center and the south of Singapore.
On the way back down, it is possible to look out of the mouth of the Merlion, have your photograph taken and then pay for the print in the tourist shop at the bottom on the way out. Behind the Merlion is Merlion Walk, a series of playful fountains inspired by Gaudi's work in Barcelona wander down this 80m path, all the while accompanied to the piped music common to much of Sentosa.
The Merlion is easy to find from the main arrival hall on Sentosa. Simply come out from here past the left side of the Carlsberg Sky Tower. Then proceed past the Images of Singapore and down a series of steps accompanied by the piped music.
