St Martin's Gardens in Monaco were aid out in the 1830s during the reign of Prince Honoré V. The gardens are found on both sides of the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco-Ville, one of the top Monaco attractions, and overlook Monaco Bay next to the Prince's Palace.
The gardens are full of exotic plants, ponds and works of art. Within the gardens is a statue to Prince Albert I, a keen oceanographer and spnosor of the Institut Océanographique. Both St Martin's Gardens and the Fort Antoine gardens were a source of inspiration to Guillaume Apollinaire, who lived in Monaco between 1887-1899.
