Castro Urdiales is a small seaside port town in northern Spain. Situated on the Bay of Biscay part way between Santander and San Sebastian, Castro Urdiales has become a popular holiday resort, popular with people from Bilbao and other parts of the Basque Country and Cantabria. Blessed with two beaches and numerous hotels, many people have holiday homes here.

This guide shows some of the local tourist attractions in Castro Urdiales linked to map. Among them are:- Castro Urdiales Beaches - the main attraction in the summer months are the beaches of Urdiales, El Fraile and Brazomar, lined with sand and opening into clean waters.
- Saint Ann's Chapel - remains of chapel on the breakwater.
- Castro Urdiales Harbour Breakwater - with stunning views over the ocean and back over the harbour to the town and mountains beyond.
- Iglesia de Santa Maria de la Asuncion (Church of St. Mary of the Assumption) - early 13th century Gothic church, one of the most important in the region, also called Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
- Castillo de Santa Ana (Castillo Faro) - once a pentagonal Templar castle, it now houses a lighthouse overlooking the harbour.
- Miliario Romano (Roman Column) - lower part of a Roman column, part of a milestone dated 61AD marking the distance to Pisoraca.
- Palacio y Castillo de Ocharan (Ocharan Palace and Castle) - 20th century neo-Gothic style castle designed by architect Eladio Laredo.
- Ayuntamiento (Town Council Building) - 18th century building with a balcony along the front and dramatic clock tower.
- Cave of Peña del Cuco - cave containing Upper Paleolithic period cave paintings.
- Flavióbriga - Roman archaeological site under the entire modern city up to a depth of 2m.
- Coso Blanco - local festival / fiesta celebrated on the first Friday in July with fireworks.
