The Great Dorset Steam Fair 2010 - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This was the 42nd Steam Fair held in September 2010 at Blandford Foirum in Dorset. A typically British event, this is now the largest collection of vintage equipment to be seen anywhere in the world.
Around 200 working steam engines of all shapes and sizes were on display, together with around 2,000 other working exhibits.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair first started in 1969 and has been held in Dorset every year since at the beginning of September. Growing every year it is now held in Tarrant Hinton between Blandford Forum and Salisbury on a 600 acre site filled with hundreds of steam engines, tractors, tanks, fairground rides, pipe organs and all other kinds of steam driven attractions.
With over 200,000 visitors, the Great Dorset Steam Fair is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Dorset. Highlights include the 'Showman's Line up' with the largest collection of Showman's engines on earth.
In recent years, the Great Dorset Steam Fair has introduced various music marquees, camp ground and numerous refreshment and drinking tents, making it a full day out for all the family, or a festival lasting 5 days with a vibrant night life.

Train: Salisbury station and then bus to the Great Dorset Steam Fair.
