April 25 Bridge is a suspension bridge, has six road lanes in both directions, a completion total about 2.3 km and a distance between the central pillars of over 1km. It was inaugurated in 1966 under the name Salazar Bridge. Has a height of 70m free shipping which provides access to the port of Lisbon to large ships, as shown in the picture. In August 1999 it inaugurated the rail link. It is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world.
The project Suspension Bridge was designed by the Office of Engineering New York, Steinman, Boynton, Gronquist & London with assistance from the Office of Bridge over the Tagus and the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering and constructed by the Consortium, the United States Steel International (New York), Inc.
It is one of the main entrances of Lisbon, Portugal, Europe linking the capital with the south bank of the Tagus, next to Christ the King.
