This steep footpath leads to the Covalanas Cave which is just south of the village of Ramales de la Victoria in Asturias.
Unfortunately the cave was closed when I took this photograph, but there were these outstanding views of the Cantabrian countryside.
During the Stone Age, the cave was ideally placed to see both prey and enemies from far away, and enemies were exhausted by the time they reached the entrance. Not surprising!
