Cap de Cavalleria - S'Olla - FURTHER INFORMATION
Cap de Cavalleria - S'Olla - Menorca visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Cap de Cavalleria - S'Olla' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Balearic Islands.
S'Olla is formed by a curve in the cliffs on Cap de Cavalleria in Menorca. This is rugged and isolated terrain at the northernmost point on the island, about 4km north of the 'mainland'. It is a great spot for isolated bird watching, with sea eagles nesting nearby.
The passes several other places of interest. Near the base of the peninsula is Port de Sanitja, important in Roman and Phoenician times. Artifacts from this are on display in the Ecomuseu Cap de Cavalleria(Museum of Cap de Cavalleria). Another good viewpoint is Cala Viola de Llevant.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
From either Ciutadella or Mahon, take the C-721 to Es Mercadal. From Es Mercadal take the cf-3 north passing Binissarret and Binissaria. The cf-3 continues past Estància d'en Magister and passes through Cavalleria when it becomes the Cami de Far.
The alternative is to head 7km north from Es Mercadal (4km south from Fornells) along the C-723 (Me-15) and then west along the road signposted for Cala Tirant and Cap de Cavalleria. This small lane joins the cf-3 a little beyond Cala Tirant.
