Avenue de Tourville - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Perching on the wall was the best way to take a panorama of the grounds of the Hotel des Invalides and the Eglise du Dome which stands in it. The panoramic picture also shows the area along the Avenue de Tourville. This image was taken near the east end of the complex.

Avenue de Tourville - Paris visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Avenue de Tourville' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Paris.
360° Panorama taken from the wall of the Hotel des Invalides complex on Avenue de Torville in Paris . Avenue de Tourville in Paris runs from the Place de l'Ecole Militaire (next to the Ecole Militiare) east to the Boulevard des Invalides. A large part of the northern edge of the Avenue de Tourville borders the Hôtel des Invalides (lit: House of the Invalids), which was set up as a hospital for war wounded. There is still a hospital on this site, though much has been given over to a number of museums.
In this panoramic photograph you can see the Eglise du Dôme, whose dome is modeled on the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and a very popular tourist attraction as the burial site of Napoleon. From where this image was taken, next to the Place Denys Cochin, you can also see the buildings of the Musée de l'Ordre et del la Libération.
The other museums in this complex include the Musée de l'Armée (Museum of the Army), Musée des Plans-reliefs and Musée d'Histoire Contomporaine (Museum of Contemporary History).
