Horning is a small village in Norfolk about 11 miles northeast of Norwich. It lies next to the River Bure on ground between it and the River Ant. The name 'Horning' means 'The Folk living on high ground between the Rivers'.
Horning grew up around a manor given to the Abbey of St Benet at Hulme by King Canute in 1020 AD. The Bishop of Norwich, as Abbot of St.Benets, is still Lord of the Manor today. The Parish covers area along the North bank of the River Bure to Thurne Mouth and includes the ruins of the Abbey & St.James Hospital and the 13th Century Church of St Benedict.
Horning is popular for boating and hosts the annual Three Rivers Race, where sail boats have to reach designated points on the rivers of Bure, Ant and Thurne before returning to Horning. It is usually held on the first Saturday in June.

Horning has several waterside pubs, shops and tea rooms that line the river. Other attractions include:- River Cruises - offering trips along the three rivers.
- Horning Ferry - found about a mile from the village, contains a boat marina, small leisure centre and riverside pubs.
- Church of St Benedict - 13th century church about a mile from the village.
- Ruisn of St Benedict Abbey
- Horning Marina - often filled with small sailing yachts, overlooked by cafes.
- BeWILDerwood - 'award winning forest of family fun and outdoor adventure. Treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges, Crocklebogs, Twiggles and Boggles, boat trips, marsh walks and really yummy food'.
- Horsey Windpump - restored drainage windpump on Horsey Mere, run by the National Trust.
