Julian Price Lake lies within the Julian Price Memorial Park, a short distance west of Blowing Rock in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The lake covers some 47 acres and is formed by a dam along which the Blue Ridge Parkway road runs. It is stocked with various fish and is also home to beavers as well as other wildlife. It is used for fishing, boating and canoeing by visitors.
The Julian Price Memorial Park covers some 4,200 acres at the foot of Grandfather Mountain (which has the highest swinging bridge in North America). The park is managed by the National Park Service. It is a popular vacation spot, containing over 100 picnic sites as well as various camp grounds, rest rooms, nature walks, hiking trails, and a 300-seat amphitheatre. Within the park are 7 marked hiking trails which range from 2.5 to 13.5 miles in length.
