The tiny village of Moreton lies on the River Frome eight miles east of Dorchester in rural Dorset. The village is famous as the birthplace of T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), and mentioned by Thomas Hardy as the 'vale of the great dairies'. The village focusses around the Georgian home of the Frampton family, who have lived here since the 14th century. James Frampton played a role in the Tolpuddle Martyrs incident in the 1800's.

Tourist attractions in and around Moreton include:- Lawrence of Arabia Grave - found within the grounds of Church of St Nicholas and St Magnus church.
- Church of St Nicholas and St Magnus - with windows engraved over a 30 year period by Sir Laurence Whistler.
- Tea Rooms - also acting as in impromptu museum to the burial of Lawrence of Arabia, with pictures and the estate bier (coffin trolley).
- Moreton Gardens - originally laid out in 1742, with various ornamental beds, fountains, ponds and other delights.
- Moreton Stables & Equestrian Centre - book a horse ride around the local countryside.
